An important objective Caribbean Geography was to provide more locally-focused material on the geography of the region. Editorial policy is to ensure some of the articles published contain information and ideas that are useful for school teachers and A-level students. Whilst the main research articles often contain resource material which can be used by teachers and sixth formers, the journal also carries a special section called Geography in the Caribbean Classroom in each issue. The types of articles published in this special section have included Caribbean resource material which is not generally accessible in geography textbooks, commentaries on teaching methods, ideas for fieldwork, analysis of students' skills and performance, and historical perspectives on the teaching of geography in Caribbean schools. Teachers and educators are encouraged to submit educational material to CG for publication. We would like this section of the journal to become a vibrant forum for the discussion of educational issues in our discipline, especially in the new millennium as we face the challenges of reforms to Caribbean school curricula. We will also continue our tradition of publishing educational resource material for geography teachers and sixth formers.
